So, the company’s earnings per share show how much you are getting for the money you’re paying. A company with a high stock price will have higher “earnings per share” than those with a low stock price.
For Example – Amazon reported earnings per share of $41.83 in 2020. It’s currently trading at $3,000. Berkshire Hathaway also announced $26,668 earnings per Series A share, valued at about $430,000.
If you know the stock price and the EPS (Earnings Per Share) then you can figure out how much money you are paying for each dollar of earnings.
